SKORPO - POLISHED BY GLACIERS AND MELTWATER

The glacier that was pressed between Skorpo and the mainland at the end of the Ice Age made the strangest shapes on the south side of the island. These show that the glacier was ductile and polished the malleable phyllite with hard stones that were frozen solid in the ice. The meltwater containing stone and gravel carved out a series of pot holes on the island and on the mainland inward of this.
